Body, Thigh, and Arm Lift Procedures in Montgomery County

Significant weight loss, whether it comes after bariatric surgery or through other means, is an amazing achievement. However, it can also leave an individual with excess skin that obscures the new body contour he or she has worked so hard to attain. Dr. Joseph A. Rabson performs body, arm, and thigh lift procedures at our practice in Plymouth Meeting for patients in Montgomery County and beyond who wish to enjoy slimmer, sleeker, rejuvenated physiques. Dr. Rabson also achieves amazing results with breast lift and tummy tuck surgery at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center.

Arm Lift

Slimmer, shapelier arms can be achieved with an arm lift, also known as brachioplasty. Ideal for individuals who have undergone dramatic weight loss, arm lift surgery can also benefit those who have sagging upper arms due to the loss of skin elasticity over time. When excess fat, rather than surplus skin, causes the upper arm to appear flaccid, however, liposuction may be the treatment of choice. For some individuals, a combination of both procedures is indicated. A private consultation with Dr. Rabson can help individuals decide whether brachioplasty or another procedure is suitable for their unique needs.

During a typical arm lift procedure, Dr. Rabson makes an incision in the upper arm through which he removes fat deposits. Then he trims away the excess skin and meticulously sutures the remaining skin into place to create an attractive arm contour. Finally, the upper arms are wrapped to help reduce postoperative swelling. Although patients may be able to return to work in one week after undergoing brachioplasty, they should take care to avoid strenuous activities for at least two weeks.

Thigh Lift

Smoother, leaner thighs can be a reality with thigh lift surgery at our practice in Plymouth Meeting. Typically, a thigh lift involves the excision of excess skin and the removal of troublesome fat deposits with liposuction. Commonly performed on men and women who have undergone extreme weight loss, thigh lift surgery is also helpful for individuals who have lost skin elasticity due to the aging process. Since the surgery is completely customized to suit each individual, a consultation with Dr. Rabson is necessary in order to assess the patient's unique circumstances.

During the thigh lift procedure, Dr. Rabson removes excess skin and fat through discrete incisions. By pulling the remaining skin tight, he is able to create a shapely silhouette. After surgery, patients are fitted with compression garments, which they should wear for at least a month to minimize swelling and to aid healing. Patients whose careers do not involve strenuous activity may return to work approximately a week after their surgeries.

Body Lift

A total body lift is a highly customized procedure designed to tighten and tone the entire body after significant weight loss. It may involve several different body contouring techniques. Because of the extensive nature of this procedure, body lift patients must be in excellent physical and emotional health. They should have reached their ideal body weight and plan to maintain a stable weight. For those that qualify, a complete body lift can produce life-changing results.
