Providing our patients with a thorough understanding of neck lift recovery and results is important to our Philadelphia area team. We believe that you should have all of the facts before you make a decision on whether to undergo cosmetic surgery, and we are happy to educate our patients on the recovery process as well as the results that they can expect from their procedure. Understanding neck lift risks and benefits can also help you form realistic expectations of your treatment, which is why we urge you to discuss these issues with Dr. Joseph Rabson and our team of medical professionals.

Neck lift recovery typically takes one to two weeks. After the surgery has been completed, a compression garment is applied to the treatment area. The compression garment helps to promote healing and is worn for a few days after the procedure. Most patients are able to return to normal activity fairly quickly after a neck lift procedure. To help alleviate any pain and discomfort that may arise during the recovery process, pain medication may be prescribed. We would be happy to go over the neck lift recovery process with you in more detail at our Philadelphia area practice.
It is important for patients to have realistic expectations when it comes to neck lift results. In the initial week or two after surgery, there is likely to be bruising and swelling and the results of the procedure may not be evident. Understanding this will allow you to focus on the long-term rather than the short-term results and make it through the recovery process with ease. Even though the healing process may take only a couple of weeks, the final results may not be evident for up to three months after surgery.
When your neck lift results are complete, you can expect to look younger, healthier, and trimmer. Assuming you stay at or near your target weight, you can expect the results of your neck lift surgery to last from five to ten years. With a more refined jaw line and neck, many of our patients have found that their self-confidence has improved, and, in turn, their social lives as well. At the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, we are strong proponents of plastic surgery because we know that such procedures can have a long-term impact on a person's life.
