BOTOX® Cosmetic

To help our patients achieve a more relaxed, refreshed appearance, we offer BOTOX® treatments at our practice in Plymouth Meeting. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that relaxes targeted muscles of the face to reduce the prominence of lines and wrinkles. Areas that can be treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic include lines between the eyebrows, forehead furrows, and crow's feet.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved for individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 and has been proven to be generally safe. However, pregnant women are advised to avoid treatment as the possible effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic on a developing fetus are unknown.

Treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic usually takes around 10 minutes. Although no anesthesia is required, some patients prefer to numb the treatment area with ice or an anesthetic ointment. During treatment, Dr. Rabson expertly administers BOTOX® injections into the muscles of the face that cause lines and wrinkles. Results are usually visible within a few days and can last up to four months.

JUVEDÉRM™ Injectable Gel, Restylane®, and Perlane®

While BOTOX® Cosmetic effectively reduces the prominence of frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet, it can't restore lost volume. Dermal fillers such as JUVEDÉRM™ Injectable Gel, Restylane®, and Perlane® are designed to plump the skin and fill in facial folds, creases, and depressions. They can also add volume to the lips and create a more pronounced pout.

JUVEDÉRM™ Injectable Gel, Restylane®, and Perlane® are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural component of healthy skin that keeps the skin hydrated by retaining precious moisture. Unlike most collagen treatments, which are derived from animal sources, Perlane®, JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, and Restylane® require no allergy testing prior to treatment.

Treatment with Restylane®, Perlane®, or JUVEDÉRM™ Injectable Gel only takes around 30 minutes. After a soothing anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area, Dr. Rabson uses a very fine needle to inject the filler deep into the skin. Little or no downtime is required after treatment and results are often immediately apparent. Many of our patients choose to combine the benefits of BOTOX® Cosmetic and one of our hyaluronic acid-based fillers to achieve even greater wrinkle reduction.
