As with any medical procedure, breast augmentation recovery takes time, after which you will see your desired results. However, Dr. Joseph Rabson and our team at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center are sure you will enjoy your breast augmentation recovery in our beautiful, fully accredited Blue Bell Ambulatory Surgical Center servicing the Philadelphia area and Montgomery County.
The first 24 to 48 hours of recovery after breast augmentation will be uncomfortable for most patients. Discomfort is common immediately after breast augmentation surgery, but can be managed with medication. A few days after the breast augmentation, the gauze dressing from around the chest will be removed and replaced with a surgical bra. Stitches will be removed within seven to10 days.
For the first few weeks of breast augmentation recovery, the breasts will be very sensitive. The breasts may be swollen for up to two months, and the implants may look a little too high. This is completely normal. Patients recovering from breast augmentation should avoid physical contact and activity in order to reduce the chances of injuring the breasts. After about a week, most recovering patients will be able to return to work, provided their jobs do not entail any heavy lifting or strenuous activity. Patients can usually drive within one or two weeks. About one month into breast augmentation recovery, strenuous activity and exercise may be resumed.
The most important step to ensuring that you achieve the breast augmentation results you desire is to choose the right cosmetic surgeon. Dr. Rabson and our staff at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center have more than 25 years of experience in serving the Philadelphia area and Montgomery County with exceptional cosmetic surgery.
